Golf’s U.S. OPEN starts on June 10th in suburban Philadelphia. WRTI’s Susan Lewis considers the relationship between art and golf in Victorian Great Britain, as a Philadelphia Museum of Art exhibition spotlights an 1847 masterwork.

The term "outsider art" came into use in the early 1970s from a French description for unrefined art. As WRTI’s Jim Cotter reports, the preferred term today is “self-taught,” and a single collection of such work is the focus of a major exhibition at the Philadelphia Museum of Art that runs through June 9th.

In honor of Black History Month, WRTI presents a JazzSet from NPR Special: a live, recorded performance of jazz pianist Jason Moran's 'Live: Time On The Quilts Of Gee's Bend' Suite, that was commissioned by the Philadelphia Museum of Art's Art After 5 program, and had its world premiere there in 2008. The work is influenced by the quilts and quilters of Gee's Bend, Alabama.
