Described by The Huffington Post as "one of the most dynamic groups in the United States" Dolce Suono Trio played live in the WRTI 90.1 performance studio on Friday, October 12th. Host Susan Lewis welcomeed flutist Mimi Stillman, cellist Nathan Vickery, and pianist Charles Abramovic.

Dolce Suono Trio is a core ensemble of flute, cello and piano—part of the Dolce Suono Ensemble, a larger group founded by flutist and artistic director Mimi Stillman in 2005. Dolce Suono Ensemble has a roster of musicians who play together in different combinations, depending on the repertoire. Dolce Suono is known for programs that explore historical connections while pushing the art form into the future with new commissions.
Dolce Suono Trio performs on October 14th at 3 pm, Trinity Center for Urban Life at 22nd and Spruce streets in Philadelphiaas part of their Fall for Chamber Music series.
Dolce Suono Trio has performed at the Smithsonian American Art Museum, Philadelphia Chamber Music Society, Southern Exposure New Music Series, Princeton and Cornell universities, Bard, Haverford, Bryn Mawr, and Franklin and Marshall colleges, Symphony Space (NY), and Brooklyn’s Roulette.
The trio was invited to perform a gala concert featuring Jennifer Higdon's American Canvas at the Brandywine River Museum for the Andrew Wyeth: In Retrospect centennial exhibition.
Flutist Mimi Stillman is the founding Artistic Director of the Dolce Suono Ensemble as well as a soloist with the the Philadelphia Orchestra, Bach Collegium Stuttgart, Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, Chamber Orchestra of Indianapolis, and at Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, La Jolla Chamber Music Festival, Verbier Festival. Mimi is on the faculty of Temple University.
Cellist Nathan Vickery is a member of the New York Philharmonic and performs on the Philharmonic’s “Ensembles” chamber series. He performs as soloist with Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, and recitals and chamber music at festivals including the Marlboro Chamber Music Festival, Ravinia’s Steans Music Institute, and the Chamber Music Workshop at the Perlman Music Festival, as well as throughout Europe with Curtis on Tour.
Pianist Charles Abramovic is a solo, chamber, and recording artist, and composer. He has played with the Pittsburgh Symphony, Baltimore Symphony, and at international festivals in Berlin, Salzburg, Bermuda, Dubrovnik, Aspen and Vancouver. Charles has recorded the works of Babbitt, Schuller, and Schwantner and is a professor of Keyboard Studies at Temple University.
