Three pianists who are 2018 Tri-County Youth Festival winners play live in the WRTI performance studio and chat with Classical Host Kevin Gordon. Tri-County Concerts Association organizes one of the area's most prestigious competitions for aspiring young musicians living in Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties.

Youthful exuberance filled the WRTI performance studio when three young Steinway Junior Piano Competition winners performed.  Host Kevin Gordon welcomed pianists Michelle Wang, Anwen Deng, and Elizabeth Yang, in the third of our special live concert broadcasts with the winners of this inaugural Steinway competition.

The WRTI performance studio was alive with the sound of young musicians this week when students from the Curtis Summerfest Young Artists Program visited us.

This is the second of our special live concert broadcasts with the winners of the inaugural Steinway competition for young pianists. You'll hear Emma Liu (age 10), Petrina Steimel (age 12), and Max Wang (age 14). WRTI's Kevin Gordon is host.

Our celebration of the 165th anniversary of Steinway & Sons pianos continues on Thursday, March 1 at 12:10 pm when Ching-Yun Hu plays four works by Sergei Rachmaninoff LIVE from the WRTI 90.1 Performance Studio. WRTI’s Kevin Gordon is host.

Join us for the third live broadcast in our series celebrating the 165th anniversary of Steinway & Sons pianos, featuring Steinway artist Meng-Chieh Liu on February 28th at 12:10 pm. Meng-Chieh plays Schumann’s Eintritt from Waldszenen, Messiaen’s “Le Baiser de l’enfant Jesus," and Rachmaninoff's Polka de W.R. WRTI's Kevin Gordon is host. 

We’re celebrating the 165th anniversary of Steinway pianos with six LIVE broadcasts from the WRTI 90.1 Performance Studio by Steinway artists.  Our series takes off in style on Monday, February 26 at 12:10 pm with a performance by Eric Fung. WRTI’s Kevin Gordon is host.

WRTI 90.1 takes a step back in time to the days of old-time radio! A group of WRTI staff and hosts display their acting talents in a live, recorded reading of A Christmas Carol, the well-loved story by Charles Dickens. The performance will be broadcast as a holiday gift to our listeners on December 23rd at 5 pm and Christmas Eve at 8 pm on WRTI 90.1.

WRTI has teamed up with The Philadelphia Orchestra and the Mann Center for the Performing Arts to present the 2017 People's Choice Concert. Join us at the Mann on Wednesday, July 26th when the Philadelphia Orchestra plays a program selected by our listeners back in April.
