The January concert in our Emerging Artists Series this virtual season (our 80th year!) offers a real treat: the highly talented clarinetist Yoonah Kim and violinist Stefan Jackiw performing a Mozart sonata and duos transcribed by Yoonah. The concert can be viewed at your convenience during a two-week window through January 27 on a pay-what-you-wish basis at https://www.tricountyconcerts.org/emerging_artists.
Hailed for her "inexhaustible virtuosity" (The New York Times) and “rhythmic vivacity and ... great sensitivity" (The Strad), Yoonah Kim is the first solo clarinetist to win the Concert Artists Guild International Competition in nearly 30 years and the first woman to win first prize at the Vandoren Emerging Artist Competition.
Stefan Jackiw, who previously performed as part of Tri-County Concerts’ Emerging Artists Series, is now considered “one of the most insightful violinists of his generation” (The Boston Globe) praised for his “shimmering tone and flawless technique” (Chicago Classical Review).
