Beyond Tutus: Philadelphia's BalletX

BalletX continues its seventh season this week with its Winter Series, featuring two world premieres.  As WRTI’s Susan Lewis reports, the company, founded by former Pennsylvania Ballet dancers, continues to expand its musical settings and push the boundaries of classical forms.

BalletX's Winter Series  - danced to a range of musical styles, from klezmer and mambo, to pop, classical, and jazz - runs from February 12 to 16. Its audience engagement program, The X-Process, features sessions on opening night and Saturday afternoon at 4:30 pm.
