LA Opera: LA BOHEME, August 11th at 1 pm

Academy of Vocal Arts alums, and husband and wife in real life, Ailyn Perez and Stephen Costello star as Mimi and Rodolfo in Puccini's tragic, ultra-romantic opera about struggling young artists and the risks of living life on the edge in Paris around 1830.

An opera in four acts, La Boheme's Italian libretto is by Luigi Illica and Giuseppe Giacosa, based on Scènes de la vie de bohème by Henri Murger. The world-premiere performance of La Boheme was in Turin in 1896 at the Teatro Regio, and conducted by the young Arturo Toscanini. Saturday, August 11th, 1 to 3:45 pm.
