Every fourth for the Fourth! What’s that, you say? This Independence Day, join WRTI to celebrate our nation’s birthday with a classical playlist not to be missed from 6 AM to 6 PM. Every fourth piece (at least!) is by an American composer.
Yep, that’s right — we’re pulling out the stops (no organ necessary!) for Beach, Bernstein, Copland, Gershwin, Gottschalk, Foster, Seeger, Still, and Tower (just for starters). There will be a total of 20 across the day and we’re gonna keep you guessing about the rest!
Wait, there’s more! Between all those choice American works, you’ll hear other performances chock full of American ensembles, conductors and solo artists. A combined 80 in all! From Philly to LA and Dallas to Detroit, we’ll be honoring the finest music-making from all corners of the country.
