Shortly after receiving his B.A. from Temple University in Jazz Studies in 2018, Ernest moved North to take his bite out of New York's Big Apple.

The versatile trombonist from New Jersey performed at many of the major jazz clubs and connected with wonderfully gifted musicians on his journey, but decided to return to Philadelphia in 2010 to record his first album, Solitary Walker, which was released in 2011.  The project features nine selections, four of which are original compositions, and is steeped in the tradition of Philadelphia Soul.

Stuart founded the celebrated Center City Jazz Festival in Philadelphia in 2012.  The annual event has grown in popularity and has become an important destination for jazz enthusiasts from Philadelphia and beyond.  Utilizing a small group of venues in close proximity to one another, the festival generates an atmosphere that not only provides a wonderful experience for jazz lovers, it also showcases the beauty and hidden treasures of downtown Philadelphia.

In 2014 Ernest Stuart released the album Love/Loss, marking the first time Stuart has written and recorded from a genre-less perspective.  His goal was to simply make music and not be tied down to a specific style.  He followed that release up with his second solo album titled, Same Walking Animals.  This project was inspired by his experiences while on tour.
