Watch and Listen: Pianist Rachel Lee Plays Bach and Scriabin in WRTI's Studio

Steinway Artist Rachel Lee

Rachel Lee is a prize winning classical pianist based in West Chester, Pennsylvania and has performed at Carnegie Hall, The Academy of Music, Roussel Hall, and Madeleine Wing Adler Theatre.

The Program:
Bach: Prelude and Fugue in B-flat minor from Book One

Scriabin: Third movement from the Piano Sonata No. 3

Shchedrin-Pletnev: “Prelude” and “Horse-Racing” from “Anna Karenina”

She won 1st Prize at the Russian Musical Alliance of Philadelphia International Competition, the Michael Morochko Piano Competition, and the Crescendo International Competition. She’s also won prizes at the Pennsylvania MTNA Young Artists Piano Competition, Young Classical Virtuosos of Tomorrow International Competition, and West Chester University Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition.

While studying with Dr. Igor Resnianski, at West Chester University, Rachel served as President of the MTNA Collegiate Chapter and received the Lloyd C. Mitchell Piano Scholarship.

She began studying piano at age six in Daegu, South Korea and moved to the United States at age eleven. She accompanies weekly for the Bensalem Korean United Methodist Church and teaches piano.

Jacobs Music Steinway Award-winning pianist Rachel Lee performed works by Bach and Scriabin live from the WRTI performance studio on Monday, April 1st.

A veteran broadcaster, Kevin garnered a wealth of experience in radio before taking the weekday classical host position from 2 to 6 PM at WRTI, where he was on the air until his retirement in March 2023.
