We're going back in time to 1986, and tenor Luciano Pavarotti was in town to sing Verdi's Requiem Mass at the Spectrum conducted by Lorin Maazel with a full orchestra and vocalists from the Opera Company of Philadelphia, now famously known as Opera Philadelphia. The entire concert was broadcast throughout the country on PBS.

A whopping 15 members of Opera Philadelphia's current orchestra played in that concert at the Spectrum. This includes principal violin Emma Kummrow, principal bass Miles B. Davis, and other longtime orchestra members: Assistant concertmaster Igor Szwec, principal timpani Martha Hitchens, principal trumpet Brian Kuszyk, assistant principal viola Carol Isaacson Briselli, assistant principal cello Vivian Barton Dozor, violins Paul Reiser, Sarah DuBois, Meichen Liao Barnes and Charles Parker, bass Anne Peterson, flute Ellen Grycky, clarinet Allison Herz, and trombone Edward Cascarella.
