This Week with Yannick on WRTI 90.1: Episode 4, Music That Connects Yannick with Nature

Join us on Sunday, August 2nd at 12 PM on WRTI 90.1 to hear Episode 4 of “This Week with Yannick,” an eight-week radio series, hosted and curated by Yannick Nézet-Séguin.

The series offers listeners an intimate radio experience through music and storytelling. Each episode centers around a singular theme, and explores the myriad ways that the deepest connections in our lives can be expressed through music. More about the series.

Episode 4:

Composers have often turned to nature for inspiration, finding ways to express its beauty and power through music. In this hour, Yannick Nézet-Séguin shares pieces that express a very essential part of who we are: our connection to the earth and its own natural harmonies.

The first part of the program features music inspired by the elements, with the grace of sunrise over the earth, the turbulence of the West Wind, the creative and destructive powers of fire, and the restlessness of the sea. The second part captures the moods of all four seasons, from a playful summer day to the rawness of rebirth during spring.
