The Martians are coming! Join us the week of October 26th leading up to Halloween for some super scary and extraterrestrial classical and jazz fun on WRTI. It’s Alien Invasion Week, so get set for music that's out of this world.

Like you, we at WRTI are deeply shaken by George Floyd’s tragic death, the result of racism and the worst in human destruction. To help counter that, we want to share the best of human creation—music that uplifts and heals, that allows us to mourn, and that helps us express emotions too deep to put into words.

Tune in on May 9th from 6 am to 12 noon for a Mother's Day Weekend edition of Saturday Morning Classical Coffeehouse featuring music by women composers and performers, as well as classical favorites and surprises.

Join me on September 29th from 6 AM to noon for a glorious morning of music, including works by Norwegian composer and pianist Ola Gjeilo. Gregg Whiteside will be co-hosting the show, so it will be extra delighful.

Many WRTI listeners tell us that their fathers introduced them to the joys of music. My own dad, a terrific amateur tenor, did the same for me. He played opera full blast on our home stereo speakers at 6 am to wake us kids, and listened to me practice the piano when I was little.
