Join WRTI on the 4th of July as the Airmen of Note create musical fireworks! The premier jazz ensemble of the United States Air Force hosts annual radio events that allow listeners from far and wide to experience their brand of Americana, delivered with the help of famous jazz guest artists.

August 27, 2018.  Karrin Allyson has long been known for her on point phrasing, and her impeccable treatment of standards.  But here, on her new release Some of That Sunshine, its her originals that are the main attraction, along with some amazing guest artists.  Drummer Jeff Jennings makes a cameo on a few tunes, along with violinist Regina Carter, and saxophonist Houston Person.

Grammy-nominated jazz vocalist and pianist Karrin Allyson and radio personality Bill McGlaughlin (who is also a musician, conductor, and composer!) visited the WRTI performance studio in April and treated a few lucky guests to an amazing show. It was a fantastic afternoon in celebration of WRTI's 60th Anniversary! Join us to hear a broadcast of the session on Sunday, June 9th at 4 pm.

Karrin Allyson Ballads: Remembering John Coltrane

It has been said that necessity is the mother of invention. If that is true, than singer/pianist Karrin Allyson must find it a necessity to be inventive: She appears to be always looking for new ways to present her music...taking chances that other singers either have not thought of, or dare not try.
