Melody Gardot

January 11, 2021. Sunset in the Blue, vocalist Melody Gardot’s new album, works on the listener in a deliberate, almost methodical way, as though it knows it’s playing a long con. So if you find yourself preoccupied or not fully present at first listen— if you haven’t yet had your daily yoga, or engaged your mindfulness app, or done whatever it is one must do in early 2021 to attain clarity and presence, don’t despair. Gardot’s fifth full-length, studio album, and first in five years, will work on you anyway.

WRTI's Maureen Malloy is all set to give away tickets to Melody Gardot's upcoming concert at Philadelphia's Merriam Theatre on Saturday, September 29th.

Listen for the phone number to call for your chance to win tickets!  Tune in between 9 pm and midnight from Monday, September 17th through Thursday, September 20th and you could be going to hear one of today’s freshest talents perform standards and original compositions from her new album, The Absence. Hint: most of the tickets will be given away between 9:30 and 10:30 pm. Good luck!

Here's a live performance of Philadelphia's own Melody Gardot performing "Your Heart Is As Black As Night." Ms. Gardot has been on tour this summer, and will perform at the Merriam Theatre for a one-night show on September 29th. Her new album is The Absence.

The other day, I had a conversation with Melody Gardot about space. Not outer space, but the space between notes in her music. These days, there's lots of it.
