Listen to this joyous Philadelphia Orchestra in Concert broadcast on Sunday, December 23 at 1 PM, and on December 24 at 7 PM on WRTI HD-2. It's the Orchestra’s annual Glorious Sound of Christmas concert, recorded in 2015, a tradition since the Philadelphians recorded its best-selling Glorious Sound of Christmas album in 1962.

Mendelssohn Club of Philadelphia, founded in 1874, is a largely volunteer chorus of about 140 members.  As WRTI’s Susan Lewis reports, its new artistic director taps into the joy of singing to celebrate the past, present, and future of choral music.

The recording industry gives out the GRAMMY Awards, and WRTI’s Kile Smith looks at the classical categories, which include some local names.
