Mother's Day

Mother's Day is a time to honor our mothers and the roles they've played in shaping who we are. Pianist Lara Downes' music shines a light on social justice, in the tradition of her own mother.

May 4, 2020. Mother’s Day will be a lot different this year. The jazz brunches that would normally be packed will be replaced by curbside pickup and listening to Sunday Jazz Brunch with Bob Perkins on WRTI 90.1 (not too shabby) while chatting with family via Zoom.

Tune in on May 9th from 6 am to 12 noon for a Mother's Day Weekend edition of Saturday Morning Classical Coffeehouse featuring music by women composers and performers, as well as classical favorites and surprises.
