The cohort of carefully selected emerging jazz musicians that make up the LUQ Boysie Lowery Living Jazz Residency collaborate to perform original works that forward the creative ideas of its namesake, Robert "Boysie" Lowery.

The musical collective unit known as Vertical Current is comprised of talented artists expressing themselves through original compositions and rhythmically savvy interpretations of contemporary jazz classics.

When saxophonist Olivia Hughart (now a college freshman) was in middle school in Lower Merion, there were few girls in her jazz big band, despite the fact that there were many girls in orchestra and band. In an effort to bring girls together from her school disctrict who shared an interest in jazz, she founded the organization Key of She Jazz.

The Cuban-born, Philadelphia-based composer and percussionist Arturo Stable possesses a unique and refreshing percussive sound that can shift seamlessly whether he’s collaborating or leading his jazz ensembles.
