It was 202 years ago when "Silent Night" was first heard by Austrian villagers attending Christmas Eve mass in St. Nicholas Church in Oberndorf. How did this simple melody, with its words of comfort, become a beloved hymn of peace throughout the world? WRTI's Susan Lewis has the story.

Warm up for the 2019 Silent Night Sing-In with Wissahickon High School's Camerata, a select choir of 32 vocalists led by John Conahan. They sing John's arrangements of "Silent Night" and "O Come All Ye Faithful," in the WRTI Performance Studio, along with some other beautiful songs. WRTI's Gregg Whiteside is host.
