Acclaimed for his astonishing range and expressiveness in opera, concert performances, and recitals, tenor Lawrence Brownlee’s many honors include being named the International Opera Awards' “Male Singer of the Year” in 2017.  In this TIME IN interview, Larry talks about life during the pandemic—he's been busy with family, sports, his own interview show, and creating new works with Opera Philadelphia to share the joy of opera with more people.

While it's not easy to find duets for two tenors, Lawrence Brownlee and Michael Spyres uncovered a number of them in seven early 19th-century Rossini operas. After a video of their encore duet in 2018 at The Concertgebouw in Amsterdam went viral, they put together a groundbreaking album, Amici e Rivali, which collects over a dozen duets and trios and shines a light on the genius of Gioachino Rossini.

WRTI Classical Host Mark Pinto, a tenor who sings in a bunch of local choirs, is performing with the Wayne Oratorio Society in a performance of Felix Mendelssohn's ELIJAH on Saturday, October 19th and Sunday, October 20th at 7:30 PM at the Wayne Presbyterian Church in Wayne, PA. Mark's lovely wife Donna, a soprano, will also be singing. 

June 3, 2019. To commemmorate the 75th anniversary of the Allied Invasion of Normandy, known as D-day, which takes place on June 6th, WRTI presents our Classical Album of the Week, "Requiem: The Pity of War," the latest recording by English tenor Ian Bostridge, with Antonio Pappano at the piano.
