Live from the WRTI Performance Studio, we heard moving selections from Duke Ellington’s Sacred Concerts, performed by musicians who will be appearing with the Bucks County Choral Society in Ellington’s historic work. WRTI's Bob Perkins and Debra Lew Harder host.

Thomas Lloyd has directed the choirs at Haverford and Bryn Mawr Colleges in the suburbs of Philadelphia for over two decades. While teaching his students a wide range of repertoire, his focus has been to show—firsthand—what music means in other parts of the world.

Listen on Sunday, April 14th, 4 to 6 pm, as The Crossing chamber choir sings the broadcast premiere of Thomas Lloyd's concert-length work, Bonhoeffer. The concert was recorded at the Philadelphia Episcopal Cathedral this past March.

WRTI welcomes the Bucks County Choral Society to our broadcast line up. Don't miss a recording of the opening concert of their 40th season with Music Director Thomas Lloyd conducting a performance of the Rachmaninoff All-Night Vigil, a symphony for a cappella voices, considered a crowning achievement of Russian Orthodox choral literature. Sunday, December 30th, 5 to 6 pm.

In celebration of the Bucks County Choral Society's 40th anniversary, distinguished Artistic Director Thomas Lloyd will lead the ensemble in Rachmaninoff's stunning All-Night Vigil - a symphony for a cappella voices, considered a crowning achievement of Russian Orthodox choral literature - on October 28th. Contrary to what the title might lead one to believe, this choral masterpiece is only about an hour in length.
