You're Invited! Sing at the Kimmel Center on Dec. 17 at 7 PM To Celebrate 200 Years of Silent Night

Be part of a magical evening of singing!

This month marks the 200th anniversary of the beloved Christmas carol “Silent Night," and we're inviting you to celebrate! Come sing at a free, community performance of a new arrangement of the song by Philadelphia composer John Conahan, who will conduct the work. WRTI's Gregg Whiteside will be your host.

Here are the details: On Monday, December 17th, 2018 from 7 to 8 PM, singers from diverse ensembles all across the Greater Philadelphia Region, and anyone who enjoys singing, will come together for the SILENT NIGHT SING-IN, a performance in the Commonwealth Plaza of the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. There will be a brief rehearsal with all participating singers at 7 PM sharp and then a performance for anyone who wants to listen.

The goal is to provide a warm and comfortable space for singers of all backgrounds to connect and be a part of something positive. It’s a celebration of the connectivity of music in our beloved city.

An ensemble under Conahan’s direction previewed the new arrangement LIVE on WRTI on Wednesday, December 12, 2018.
