WRTI's mission is to champion music as a vital cultural resource in our community. One way we live our mission is to partner with organizations that we believe in.

WRTI has served as a longtime education partner to Musicopia, supporting their instrument donation program through on-air instrument drives and serving as a drop-off location for donated instruments. Through WRTI's help, Musicopia has placed over 1.7 million dollars worth of new and repaired instruments with schools over the past two decades.

In the fall of 2023, WRTI also began supporting the Musicopia String program at the Eugenio Maria de Hostos Charter School, giving 40 students in Philadelphia the opportunity to discover and play classical music.

On Saturday, Feb. 3, at a reception at the Kimmel Center, our General Manager Bill Johnson accepted the Transform Award from Musicopia on behalf of WRTI’s work to enrich children and communities through the arts. We're so honored to partner with such a wonderful organization.
