Online Donation Payment Terms and Conditions

The following Terms and Conditions govern each use you make of the donation payment services provided by WRTI of Temple University Of The Commonwealth System of Higher Education (collectively “WRTI”) through the WRTI website (hereafter “Website”).

These Terms and Conditions apply separately to each donation that you make. Except as provided for in Section 2, ‘Monthly Donations’, and unless specified by you, they do not form a contract allowing for future or successive transactions. By confirming on the Website that you wish to donate you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions for that donation.

(1) Donation Payment

All payments through the Website are to be made by payment card or electronic fund transfer..

Once you confirm to us through the Website that you wish to proceed with your donation your transaction will be securely processed through our payment services provider. By confirming that you wish to proceed with your donation you authorize us to request funds from your credit or debit card provider or as an electronic deduction from your checking or savings account.

(2) Monthly Donations

When you set up a regular monthly donation you will be scheduling a series of successive donations to be made on the day of the month that you choose until further notice. You agree that these Terms and Conditions will apply to each donation in that series.

By confirming that you wish to proceed with a monthly donation you authorize us to request funds from your credit card, debit card, checking or savings account in the amount specified by you on the day of each month that you set.

WRTI through our third-party payment provider will process your authorized series of donations unless notified by you to change or cancel your donation by calling 215-204-2300, emailing membership@wrti.org, or by mail at WRTI Membership, 1509 Cecil B. Moore Avenue, 3rd Floor, Philadelphia, PA 19121

(3) Unauthorized or Fraudulent Card Use

If you become aware of unauthorized or fraudulent use of your card or bank account information, you must notify your card provider or bank.

(4) Information Collection and Use

(i) Collection

Before we can process a donation, you must provide us with (i) your name, address, and email address; and (ii) details of the credit card, debit card, or bank account that you wish to use to fund the donation. We will use this information to process your donation. It is your responsibility to ensure you have provided us with the correct information.

When you submit your payment details, your payment data will be collected and processed securely by us through our third party vendors.

(II) Disclosure of Information

Other than sharing your information with other authorized university personnel and contracted vendors to provide donor services, manage your relationship with us and to ensure the quality, functionality and security of our website, we will not disclose personally identifiable information about you or your use of the Website except under the following circumstances.

  • With your prior written (including email and website) consent
  • With appropriate external parties, such as law enforcement agencies, to investigate and respond to suspected violations of law or university policy. Any such disclosures shall comply with all applicable laws and university policies.

(iii) Information Correction and Deletion

You can update your personal or payment information by calling membership at 215-204-2300.

For privacy reasons, you have the right to ask for certain personal information relating to you to be removed. Please direct all requests to the WRTI membership via email at membership@wrti.org or privacy@temple.edu. WRTI regularly reviews donor records and any data no longer needed for the purposes specified in this notification will be deleted by us.

(5) Security

Due to the rapidly evolving nature of information technologies, no transmission of data over the internet can be completely secure. While we are committed to protecting the privacy of our donors, we cannot absolutely guarantee the security of information that you transmit to WRTI websites and applications, and you do so at your own risk. However, once we receive your information, we use reasonable safeguards consistent with prevailing industry standards and commensurate with the sensitivity of the data being processed and stored to maintain the security of that information on our systems.

WRTI and our third party vendors and partners comply with all applicable federal, state and local laws regarding the privacy and security of information.

WRTI’s payment vendors are fully PCI DSS compliant and we and our partners have appropriate security measures in place in our physical facilities to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of collected information.

(6) General

We reserve the right to amend these Donation Payment Terms and Conditions in the future.

In performance of the Services hereunder WRTI and its vendors, partners and assigns shall comply in all material respects with all applicable laws and regulations.

These Donation Payment Terms and Conditions are governed by US law and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the US courts. Unless required by law or regulation the preceding shall be construed and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Pennsylvania, without regard to its conflicts or choice of law provisions.

WRTI as a department of Temple University complies with university policies for the management of gifts and institutional data.
