WRTI 90.1 FM is seeking an Editorial Director to join our team who shares our mission to champion music as a vital cultural resource.
This is an exciting major market opportunity to lead a program to create and deliver innovative storytelling designed to engage and serve a new generation of music lovers, more deeply connect with WRTI’s loyal community, and celebrate the rich diversity of voices and experiences in classical and jazz music.
Reporting to the Associate General Manager for Content and Programming, the director is responsible for leading the development, direction, and implementation of the station’s editorial content strategy and producing and delivering compelling multichannel content, features, and programs, which further the station’s mission. This role will also explore and create new and innovative multichannel content with a special focus on the intersection of music, culture, community, and identity and celebrating diversity, representation, and new voices.
The director will manage the editorial content program and oversee media production elements at WRTI and is responsible for contracting and managing freelance and independent talents in media production, arts, journalism, and digital communications. This role will act as a collaborative leader for programs with diverse external partners, artists, sponsors, and stakeholders and is also responsible for managing and mentoring a group of student content producers, providing real-world professional experience and opportunities for the next generation of media producers, artists, and journalists.
