It’s the dog days of summer, and International Dog Day is right around the corner. We need your help celebrating the canines who have kept you company while you listen to WRTI!
Share your dog's name and listening habits in the form at the bottom of this page, and on International Dog Day, Wednesday August 26, we'll feature dog dedications live on-air from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. We'll also showcase any WRTI listeners’ shared dog photos across our social media, website and newsletter channels.

To get you inspired, we'll start with some of our own WRTI dog buddies:
Gibson: fed twice a day by Josh Jackson, WRTI Associate General Manager.
Possibly named after a guitar, a cocktail or Cardinals great Bob Gibson, Gibson was adopted with his name, so we’ll never know. He is a musical omnivore and loves Coltrane, but he hates squirrels and anyone on the other side of the fence. Gibson is a sweetheart, but can exhibit serious alpha vibes since he killed two deer in Virginia – but he's now hoping to escape that terrible past. Gibson is known to stare at guests until they feel slightly uncomfortable or they break the tension by petting him.
Neko: hiking pal of Julian Booker, WRTI's Associate Program Director.
She is kind of a philistine when it comes to music, but has strong opinions on food and hiking. But Julian's now passed cat, Cleveland, loved Monk and Mingus. Straight No Chaser from '67 and Blues & Roots to be specific. That guy knew what was up.
Daisy: tripped over daily by Jerry Buckley, Assistant Director of Marketing and Audience Engagement.
If asked, this one will always advise listening to WRTI while lying down, belly up and half asleep. As a pandemic pup born in 2020, Daisy loves the soothing and calming side of music, especially Melinda Whiting's classical guitar selections. But like all respectable Goldens, she loves to run like crazy chasing balls or deer through the yard to the soaring sounds of electric period Miles Davis.
