Join WRTI and the Free Library of Philadelphia for Library Mixtape: Classical Fright Night, a special Halloween edition of the Library’s monthly vinyl listening series, on Wednesday, October 28, from 5:30–7:30 p.m. at Parkway Central Library (1901 Vine Street). The event is free and open to the public.
WRTI’s Classical Program Director Zev Kane will curate and host the evening, spinning some of classical music’s eeriest tunes. From witches, ghosts and dances of death to the music that helped define the sound of horror on the big screen, expect spooky favorites and unexpected discoveries all played on vinyl from the Free Library’s extensive collection.
Come for the musical treats — and discover the tricks composers have been using to conjure chills for centuries.
