It's Your Chance To Conduct The Philadelphia Orchestra in "Fly, Eagles, Fly"

Enter the contest before Feb. 1st at noon!

Classical music and the gridiron? Definitely NOT mutually exclusive! In fact, this Saturday, the night before the Eagles meet the New England Patriots in the land of the Vikings, the Fabulous Philadelphians will sound off with another full throttle rendition of the "Eagles Victory Song."

Guest conductor and former Philadelphia Orchestra Music Director Christoph Eschenbach will hand the baton to an Eagles fan at the Orchestra’s performance Saturday evening in Verizon Hall.

The Orchestra is in the midst of holding a contest for this singular conducting honor. Using select social media platforms, fans have until noon this Thursday, February 1st to profess their exuberance for the Birds and their unique suitability for the job. Here’s more information about the contest.

It won’t be the first time this season that the Orchestra is showing support for the home team.  A delightful performance of the 30-second rallying cry took place in Verizon Hall last December 10th after the Eagles' NFC East victory over the Rams.  Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séquin, the eighth artistic leader of the ensemble, wore a green Eagles jersey–Number 8.  It was a social media victory.

Following Carson Wentz’s season-ending injury in that game, the Eagles’ march to Super Bowl LII continued under quarterback Nick Foles. And here we are today.

In case you need them, here are the lyrics, to the Eagles’ fight song:

Fly, Eagles Fly

On the road to victory!

Fight, Eagles Fight

Score a touchdown

1-2-3!

Hit ‘em low

Hit ‘em high

And watch our Eagles Fly!

Fly, Eagles Fly

On the Road to Victory!

E-A-G-L-E-S, Eagles!

Here's a version of the song on a gameday from the past.
