Described as "a first class talent" with “poetic use of color and confidently expressive phrasing,” by The Philadelphia Inquirer, Ching-Yun Hu’s star has been rising ever since she took top honors as well as well as the Audience Favorite Prize at the 12th Artur Rubenstein International Piano Competition in Tel Aviv in 2008.

Ching-Yun's 2011 all-Chopin album won Taiwan’s 2012 Golden Melody Award for Best Classical Album of the year. In her newest release, she turns to Rachmaninoff, music she has called "painfully beautiful” which “connects to you in a very human way.”

Born in Taipei, Ching-Yun Hu came to the U.S. to study at Juilliard when she was 14. She now performs with orchestras and in recitals all over the world. Also an advocate for young musicians, she founded the Yun-Hsiang International Music Festival in Taipei in 2012, and a year later, began the Philadelphia Young Pianists’ Academy , a summer festival in Philadelphia.
Ching-Yun Hu is on the piano faculty of the Esther Boyer College of Music and Dance at Philadelphia’s Temple University. She is a visiting professor at the Shenzhen Arts School and an honorary artist of the Henan Cultural Center in China.
