1807 & Friends Presents: the Florian Trio, with Richard Woodhams, Oboe
The Florian Trio with guest artist oboist Richard Woodhams presents a concert of chamber music from the 18th, 19th and 21st centuries. The program opens with Telemann's intriguing Trio Sonata, performed by the Florian Trio with Richard Woodhams, with entertaining musical descriptions of five historical characters. Guitarist Allen Krantz plays two movements of J. S. Bach's Suite No. 6, BWV 1020 arranged for solo guitar. Violinist Nancy Bean and cellist Lloyd Smith play a sparkling Duetto by Tommasso Giordani. Closing the first half is Allen Krantz's hauntingly beautiful new setting of Three Sephardic Songs with Richard Woodhams and the Florian Trio. Following intermission is Napoleon Coste's "Le Montagnard," a stylish portrayal of a Swiss Mountaineer, written for oboe and guitar; and Niccolo Paganini's charmingly lyrical Terzetto performed by the Florian Trio.
