Curtis Institute of Music – Ensemble 20/21: "Harpistically Yours, Curtis"

Curtis Institute of Music – Ensemble 20/21: "Harpistically Yours, Curtis"
Join celebrated Curtis alumna Coline-Marie Orliac (Harp ’10) as she performs three all-new works composed for her by fellow Curtis alumnae. With Introspection, Kat Souponetsky (Composition ’12) creates an atmosphere simultaneously “evocative, gentle, … intimate, and groovy.” Rene Orth (’16), herself a new mom, celebrates motherhood/reflects on her new relationship to lullabies in her Brahms-inspired A Mother’s Lullaby. In Pitter-Patter, Wei Dai (’19) evokes the sounds of rainfall outside a Buddhist temple situated amid the hustle and bustle of a city.
The Philadelphia Inquirer raves, “One doesn't think of the harp as a passion-accommodating instrument, but as played by Coline-Marie Orliac, it is.” Register today to hear these intimate solo works performed by a rising star of the harp world.
