Christoph Eschenbach Accepts New Position in Washington, DC

Philadelphia, PA – The next artistic leader of the National Symphony Orchestra will be Christoph Eschenbach. He recently completed his tenure at The Philadelphia Orchestra after just five seasons. Eschenbach's new position begins in 2010/2011. He has also been named music director of the Kennedy Center, a newly created post. Speaking to WRTI earlier this year, Eschenbach hinted that he was considering the job but planned to make a decision after the presidential election. There's no word yet on his change of mind.
