Watch and Listen: The Wissahickon H.S. Camerata Sings Christmas Carols Live on WRTI

Listen to this delightful performance by the Wissahickon High School Camerata Choir, led by John Conahan, when they were live on the radio and on the WRTI Facebook page on December 12th. WRTI's Gregg Whiteside is your host.

The 35-member ensemble sings a festive program of Christmas carols and more, led by their choral director John Conahan, who also happens to be a celebrated composer of choral music. They preview his new arrangement of "Silent Night" ahead of the Silent Night Sing-In on December 17th at the Kimmel Center.

Watch the broadcast recorded live on the WRTI Facebook page here and share your comments!

The Camerata is a select choir of 9th through 12th graders that performs a variety of elevated choral repertoire throughout the Philadelphia region, and on tour.

Under the direction of Mr. Conahan, they have performed programs and choral premieres at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and the Kimmel Center. In addition, the Camerata maintains a strong community connection, performing music for many assisted living residences and service organizations.

PROGRAM:
"Silent Night," "Angels We Have Heard On High," "Carol of the Bells," "Glouchestershire Wassail," "Deck the Hall," "Jingle Bells," "Joy to the World" and a surprise!

The Camerata will join John Conahan, Gregg Whiteside, and singers throughout the Greater Philadelphia Region for the Silent Night Sing-In at the Kimmel Center on Monday, December 17th at 7 PM. They'll sing Mr. Conahan's new arrangement of the beloved carol in celebration of the song's 200th anniversary, which is this month! Everyone is invited to sing and be part of the audience.
