Windsor Johnston Moves On

WRTI's Windsor Johnston

WRTI’s longtime morning News Anchor and News Director Windsor Johnston tendered her resignation earlier this month. Windsor’s affiliation with the station began while she was a student at Temple University. She covered many local, national, and international stories while at WRTI, including the 2000 Republican National Convention in Philadelphia. She was also one of the few reporters on the scene of the violence that followed the presidential election in Kenya in December, 2007, and filed reports for both WRTI and NPR.

Windsor interviewed, among others, Walter Cronkite, Madeleine Albright, Christie Whitman, and Colin Powell, and covered many local and national elections as well as stories on Philadelphia’s “no texting while biking or skateboarding” and Camden’s homeless park, both of which went national via NPR. She created, wrote, and produced many of the station’s News and Views segments, too.

We wish Windsor well as she takes on duties in Washington, DC, anchoring for NPR.
