In our class, Voice-Over Techniques for Media, we have journeyed through a rich history of voice performers. From hearing the likes of Frank Sinatra to Don LaFontaine, we now arrive at our turn. With Sharon Eisenhour behind us, there isn't much we can't complete. In our early start to this class, we were introduced to many different voice techniques as well as ways to go about using your voice properly for commercial and other creative purposes.
Our latest venture led us all to this very building, where we would see what a real radio station looks like. During the tour of WRTI, we observed many different sides of a media outlet, from on-air talent to production and technical operations. Now if that wasn't great by itself, we actually got to record our final projects in the WRTI performance studio to make a huge production.
Earlier in the semester, we all decided that our final projects would mesh with each other. There would be multiple radio shows that spread throughout the day, and certain groups would be responsible for their portion of show: there was a morning, midday, afternoon drive, evening, and late-night show, where each of our classmates was able to shine. It meant a great deal to all of us, having this amazing opportunity given by the gracious staff at WRTI, from our tour given by Porsche Blakey to the final recordings made by Joe Patti. Thank you, all! This is something we'll never forget!
