Czech composers such as Dvorak, Martinu, Novak, Smetana, Stamitz, and Suk had a tremendous influence in the development of Western music. Tune in throughout the day to hear works by these composers and many others, and celebrate the 1918 creation of the Czechoslovak state. The 90th anniversary of the event will be recognized in Philadelphia on October 22 as Mayor Michael Nutter hosts the ambassadors of the Czech and Slovak Republics.
