Wanamaker Organ Day LIVE On WRTI: June 29, 11:30 AM

Join us for a special edition of Crossover on Saturday, June 29th, 11:30 am to 12:30 pm - broadcast live from this year's Wanamaker Organ Day at Macy's Center City - the free, day-long musical extravaganza in celebration of the world's largest pipe organ.

Organists Peter Richard Conte, Ray Cornils and Christian Elliot perform, with Elliott presenting Richard Purvis' Of Moor and Fen and his St. Francis Suite to mark the San Francisco composer's centenary. Ray Cornils performs David German's Festive Trumpet Tune and Gordon Balch Nevin's "Will-o-the-wisp," while Rudy Lucente plays Keith Chapman's Gaelic Air and Richard Purvis's Marche Grotesque. Works by Richard Strauss and Verdi are also showcased by Peter Richard Conte. Jill Pasternak is host.

If you go: special concerts and displays in the Grand Court will be combined with tours of the cavernous pipe chambers from 10 am to 5 pm - free admission. The day is capped off with a special performance at 8:30 pm - tickets required.
