The first stirrings of music, they say, often accompanied dancing, so on this last official holiday of the summer, let’s dance! Join us from noon Friday all the way through Monday night for WRTI’s Labor Day Weekend Dance Party!
On the Classical side beginning Friday at noon, every piece will be a dance. From waltz to polonaise, from tango all the way to your favorite ballet, the weekend will slide by on some of the most beautiful melodies ever written. Make sure to listen also for some of the surprising new dances being written today!
And then starting Friday night at 6 pm, Jazz will play dance-related tunes at the top and bottom of each hour, all the way into Monday night—two-fers guaranteed to bring a smile to your weekend! So put on your dancing shoes, brush up on your Charleston and Cha Cha, and cut the rug with WRTI. Your favorite programs—opera, Big Band Jazz, the Sunday afternoon line-up of The Philadelphia Orchestra and others, and Monday night’s popular Hot 11—will still be there. And then get ready to dance the summer away, because WRTI’s Labor Day Weekend Dance Party takes the floor!
