On this month's Wanamaker Organ Hour, it's music of J.S. Bach and Johannes Brahms performed by Macy's Grand Court Organist and your host, Peter Richard Conte.
Bach's 332nd birthday is March 21st, so we'll hear his Final from St. Matthew Passion, as transcribed by Charles-Marie Widor, and the Toccata in F and the Prelude and Fugue, BWV 547.
And from Brahms the program includes four of his Eleven Choral Preludes (2, 8, 10 and 11), and Peter's transcription of the Brahms Variations on a Theme of Haydn.
The Wanamaker Organ Hour, an original production of WRTI now in its 13th season, airs the first Sunday of every month at 5 pm. Hear it on WRTI 90.1 FM, on the All-Classical web stream at wrti.org or on the new WRTI mobile app!
