Our Philadelphia Orchestra Musicians Present: 26 Free Concerts, In Town and the Burbs, on Oct. 23rd!

Don't miss this! The Philadelphia Orchestra musicians are celebrating their loyal audience members on Monday, October 23rd with their 3rd annual Audience Appreciation Day—26 small ensemble, free concerts, every 30 minutes starting at 9 am, and going all the way until 7:30 pm—in the city and suburbs.

It is really to thank our audiences. Without our audiences, we would have no reason to play." -Violinist Barbara Govatos.

“This is all organized purely by the musicians," says Associate Concertmaster Ying Fu, "so it's a way we try to tell the people in the city how much we care about them, and how much we love them.”

These public concerts will pop up in libraries, schools, houses of worship, SEPTA stations, restaurants, and plazas all over the region, and are meant to be very laid-back and welcoming to everyone.

“We love going out in the community, especially compressing it into one day so people have the opportunity no matter where they live or work in the city."—Violinist Philip Kates

“Sometimes we forget in the business of our daily lives, how wonderful it is to take a few minutes and just enjoy some beautiful music, and how much we really need that these days.”—Violinist Dara Morales
