We were absolutely thrilled to have Stanley Isenberg, WRTI’s first student station manager way back at our start in 1948, visit us in October as part of our 75th anniversary celebration!
Stanley, who is 99 years young, shared many memories of his time at WRTI, met all of the WRTI family on-site that day, took a tour of our station with General Manager Bill Johnson, and was also interviewed by Temple University’s editorial team as well as WHIP Radio, the student-run radio station on Temple's campus. A full day!
Stanley was also kind enough to share his talents on the mic by recording some radio spots that are now on the air. Listen to one of his heartfelt messages in the audio button above!

July 2024 update: Stanley has celebrated his 100th birthday!
We spoke with Stanley just ahead of his July 22nd birthday and he was as energetic, thoughtful and funny as ever. On his birthday, John T.K. Scherch gave Stanley a special induction into the Sousalarm Club to help mark the occasion.
