British pianist Peter Donohoe has been a guest soloist with Philadelphia's Renaissance, Baroque and Classical chamber ensemble, Vox Ama Deus, for several years - performing in one concert per season. Valentin Radu, music director of the ensemble, told us that audiences have loved Donohoe's performances so much, that he asked him to perform in two concerts this season.
Donohoe will perform in the 28th season finale concert for Vox Ama Deus. Usually, he plays American contemporary classical music (think Gershwin, Ellington, etc.). But this time, the program is "The Three Bs" - Bach, Beethoven and Brahms, and includes the Bach Piano Concerto in D minor, Beethoven's Concerto No. 5, known as the "Emperor" concerto, and the Brahms First Piano Concerto. The concert takes place in the Kimmel Center's Perelman Theater on May 15th.
