The Philadelphia Orchestra In Concert On WRTI: An All-Bach Broadcast!

Bach specialist Nicholas McGegan conducts The Philadelphia Orchestra this Sunday, May 19th, 2 to 4 pm, in an all-Bach concert - bringing a special touch to the Orchestra, and throwing the spotlight on several Philadelphia Orchestra soloists.

Concertmaster David Kim, Principal Oboist Richard Woodhams, Principal Horn Jennifer Montone, and Principal Flute Jeffrey Khaner are just some of the stellar players of the Orchestra who will play major roles in a program including:

The Brandenburg Concertos 1, 3, and 4, the Double Violin Concerto, and the ever-popular Orchestral Suite No. 3, with its famous "Air on the G String" will reveal the joyous side of Bach's music, and should be a special treat.

During intermission, Susan Lewis will speak with Richard Woodhams, and Jim Cotter will discuss Bach's music with Maestro McGegan. Join us! That's this Sunday, May 19th, 2 to 4 pm.

Gregg was the host of WRTI's morning drive show from 2012 until his retirement from WRTI in January, 2021. He began producing and hosting The Philadelphia Orchestra In Concert broadcasts in 2013, joining the Orchestra in Hong Kong for the first-ever live international radio broadcasts from that island in 2016, and in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem for two historic broadcasts in 2018. You can still hear Gregg as host of the Orchestra broadcasts every Sunday and Monday on WRTI.
