This Sunday, join us for The Crossing chamber choir's second concert in their Sixth Annual Month of Moderns Festival, recorded live at The Icebox at Crane Arts Center in the Northern Liberties section of Philadelphia on June 28, 2014, and conducted by Donald Nally.

The program was chosen from the Knight Foundation Arts Challenge Grant Composer's Competition, which drew an array of talent from the Greater Delaware Valley. These works were chosen and presented in their world premieres. Robert Maggio's moving work, The Woman Where We are Living, for choir and harp, journeys into a topic touching so many today - the experience of Alzheimer's patients, as seen through Dr. Alzheimer's initial interviews with Auguste Deter, the first person diagnosed with the disease.
James Primosch's Mass for the Day of St. Thomas Didymus, explores the acoustics of the Icebox in a work combining traditional Latin mass texts with reflections on those texts by poet Denise Levertov.
And Frances White's The Third Night, which in the concert was accompanied by a film presentation.
Don’t miss this moving concert, Sunday, August 31, from 4 to 6 pm on WRTI.
Donald Nally, conductor
Elizabeth Steiner, harp
