Gems from the Romantic repertoire take center stage following a performance of the winning entry in the 2015 Young Composers Competition with music by Charles Peck. One of the first concerti of the Romantic age, Mendelssohn’s Piano Concerto No. 1, will feature pianist Roman Rabinovich. The concert concludes with Tchaikovsky’s Manfred Symphony in B minor, based on Lord Byron’s dramatic metaphysical poem. Rossen Milanov conducts Symphony in C.
