Philadelphia’s own Pheralyn “Lady” Dove is at home both on the stage and behind the lens. The poet, spoken work artist and visual artist has performed with greats like Byard Lancaster and Khan Jamal.
Lady Dove’s latest work, “As The Vision Unfolds,” is billed as a music and poetry multimedia production featuring original compositions interspersed with video and visual art. The performance will be on September 14th at 8 PM at the Community Education Center at 3500 Lancaster Avenue.
Dove calls herself a “word-warrior,” as she is a poet, writer and educator. She has worked as a reporter for The Philadelphia Inquirer and The Philadelphia Tribune, and has taught a writing course right here at Temple University. She also has published a book of essays called No Time for Tears.
Lady Dove works closely with musicians to make her productions truly spectacular, as you will see when she and her musical friends grace your computer or device with their lunchtime presentation. Join us!
