Check out: Connie Han at the wonderful jazz piano series @exuberance, Saturday, March 16th from 8 to 11 PM. @exuberance is located at 1220 N. Mascher Street in Philadelphia. Details here.

Connie Han was taught the piano during her early childhood by her parents, who are both practicing classical musicians. Connie views her opportunity to study classical piano as a gift that provided an advanced level of technical expertise and helped her transition to jazz when she developed an interest. The training and experience she gained from her parents helps her to recognize the importance of hard work and played a large role in cultivating her love for music.

Connie began to study jazz at the age of 14 as a student at Los Angeles County High School For The Arts where she met faculty member, drummer and mentor Bill Wysaske.  Connie found that Bill echoed the lessons of work ethic and practice she learned from her parents.

After high school graduation, Connie spent a few short weeks at UCLA on a full scholarship before deciding to drop out to pursue the realization of her career as a professional musician. Connie’s second release as a leader happens to be her debut on the acclaimed Mack Avenue record label.  It’s no surprise that this dynamic and talented pianist is gaining the eye and ear of the jazz community.
