Join us on Friday, July 26th at 12:10 PM when local guitarist Brad Rau visits the performance studio to play music from Bach to Paul Desmond. WRTI's Susan Lewis is host.

Program:

Paul Desmond (1924-1977),  Take Five

Eduardo Sainz de la Maza (1903-1982),  Campanas Del Alba (Bells of Dawn)

Heitor Villa Lobos (1887-1959), Etude 11

J.S. Bach (1685-1750), Prelude in E major

Brad Rau was a 15-year-old drummer and rock musician when he fell in love with classical guitar. Now he plays at various venues around the tri-state area, and also brings his interest in philosophy, physics and humor to his work as a guitar teacher.  Brad recently released a music video, playing Jorge Morel's Danza in E minor.

In his visit to WRTI, Brad shares his music and insights with a program of works composed in different traditions and time periods.

Brad Rau graduated with a masters degree from New England Conservatory, where he studied with Eliot Fisk, the last pupil of Andres Segovia. He has performed in masterclasses with Grammy award-winners Sharon Isbin, Andrew York, and Jason Vieaux.

Check out Brad's upcoming performances.
