Russian pianist Vyacheslav Gryaznov visited the WRTI 90.1 performance studio on October 24th and played his own arrangements of beloved works by Grieg, as well as Rachmaninoff’s Prelude in G minor, and—perfect for this spooky time of year—Franz Liszt’s demonic Mephisto Waltz No.1. WRTI's Debra Lew Harder hosts.

In 2014 he signed a publishing contract with Schott Music, and in 2018, he released an album of his transcriptions of Russian music on the Steinway & Sons label.

A graduate of the Moscow Conservatory and the Yale School of Music, where he studied with Boris Berman, Vyacheslav is based in New York City. He'll be appearing at Jacobs Music in Lawrenceville, N.J. on Sunday, October 27th at 3 PM.
