In the midst of an East Coast U.S. tour, alumni and student wind and string players from The Curtis Institute of Music visited WRTI's Performance Studio to play music by Penderecki and Beethoven and chat with WRTI's Susan Lewis.
Over the course of the year, Curtis on Tour takes different groups of students throughout the country and the world. As part of this program, Winds and Strings, an ensemble of student musicians, led by alumni, Austrian violinist Benjamin Schmid, and Gabriel Kovach, principal horn of the Phoenix Symphony, is now on an East Coast U.S. tour.
They're performing expansive chamber works of Beethoven and Penderecki, with stops in Philadelphia, Washington, Pittsburgh, and West Orange, New Jersey.
The same day of their evening concert "at home" at the Curtis Institute of Music Field Concert Hall, they visit WRTI to perform highlights of their tour repertoire. Join us November 20th at 12:10.
