DePue Brothers Band performstheir energetic grassical holiday show on December 8th, 2019 at 7:30 PM at Reform Congregation Keneseth Israel in Elkins Park.
Philadelphia Orchestra fans will delight in hearing long-time members of the Orchestra, violinists Jason DePue and Zach DePue, and principal timpanist Don Liuzzi in a whole new, genre-bending light, and on instruments you don’t normally see on a classical concert stage.
They’ll be joined by the two other DePue brothers, Wallace DePue, Jr. and Alex DePue, along with Michael Mumford, banjo, Kevin MacConnell, bass, and Kevin Hanson, guitar.
The four DePue Brothers, all classically trained violinists, have played together since their childhood in Bowling Green, Ohio. As professional musicians, they formed a brother act in 2003 to perform and record music that blends classical, bluegrass, jazz, and rock, and soon expanded their band to include flat-pick guitar, banjo, bass, and percussion. The DePue Brothers Band has released three albums; the band’s 2013 album “When It’s Christmastime,” has been heard on over 150 radio stations around North America, and on Sirius Radio. They have toured in over 30 states in the U.S., sharing their unique “grassical” style to cheers and acclaim.
